The Great Dionysus
This project focused around Theater and Greek Tragedy. From the previous project, we took a single script out of the entire class and made it everyone's focus. "Don't Mean A Thing" became our play. We all were assigned roles like Actors, Set, Backdrop, etc.
The play that our class worked on, was the play I wrote for the Play writing Project. The play was titled "Don't Mean A Thing". It follows two brothers who are sent to Vietnam and serve as Marines in a Khe Sanh Combat base in 1968. The older brother, Paul, decides to sacrifice everything to go with his brother Sam to Khe Sanh to mostly be a babysitter. Paul then gets tired of being the so called babysitter and made a decision that resulted in him losing his brother. After are play was chosen there was a group of writers that got together and edit the script till we got the final script. I was the Awards person for are team so I was the person that made sure the judges were able to make there final decision. I also take care of make sure that everyone got there awards at the night of the exhibition I got to say who got what award. After a lot of hard work the play got "Best Set", "Best Costumes", "Best Lights/Sound", "Best Main Actor", "Best Chorus", and "Best Director". |
